Birmingham is the most populous city in the state of Alabama with a population of over 210,000. The cultural and entertainment capital of the state with numerous art galleries in the area, Birmingham ranks as one of the most important business centers in the Southeastern United States.
Opening in the fall of 2011, the CrossPlex Aquatic Center features two LED video screens, over 20 lanes and numerous springboards for the diving competition. The seating area holds 1,000 spectators in addition to over 400 athletes/coaches on the pool deck.
