Baker named IWLCA/StringKing Offensive Player of the Week

ATLANTA (Feb. 25, 2020) - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) has chosen six NCAA student-athletes for the IWLCA/StringKing Player of the Week awards for the week of February 17-23, 2020.

This weekly award recognizes the best offensive and defensive performances by payers in Division I, II, and III each week during the regular season. Rhodes sophomore Baylee Barker represented NCAA Division III by being chosen as Offensive Player of the Week.

Barker averaged 4.5 goals per game against two ranked teams. In a close, one-goal loss to No. 15/17 Colorado College, she scored four goals and finished with six points.

Against a two-goal halftime deficit, Barker guided the Lynx offense to a comeback victory over No. Illinois Wesleyan, netting four of her five goals in the second half. The sophomore tied the game 10-10 with 12 minutes left before she netted the game-winner to push the Lynx to three consecutive goals.

Overall, Baker finished with nine goals, one assist, 10 points, seven groundballs, and 13 draws.
